was born and raised in a small town in Germany. Clay was not on my horizon. I mastered in Costume Design and worked in that profession for several years. At the end of my contract I moved to California, got married and raised a family.

I started working with clay at a local community college, advanced to lab tech and learned everything from making glazes to loading and firing kilns to running a studio and to teach classes. It was a great opportunity.

To advance my skills as a potter I attended many workshops and spent several summers at a Colorado Art Center working with international clay artists. I taught ceramics for 22 years, had my own studio and participated in numerous exhibits. I worked in both stoneware and porcelain and explored many different firing methods.

Living in Costa Rica I had to change my work to a smaller scale, more colorful, whimsical pieces that reflect the beauty and vibrance of local nature.
