Helen Eltis

Helen left England for more tropical climes to live in the Virgin Islands where she continued her love for painting flowers. Shortly thereafter she continued her adventures in the tropics by moving to Costa Rica. There she focused almost exclusively on her Trompe L’oeil work designing interiors for beach resorts, restaurants, clubs, and fine homes. Her clients there included the aristocracy of Central America. Helen then returned once again to the Virgin Islands where she has been living with her family for many years prior to the most recent hurricanes. Helen showed her work locally in St John, which Included her floral paintings, beachscapes, and portraits. She was recently commissioned by Our Lady of Mount St. Carmel Catholic Church St John Virgin Islands to paint the walls of the Church alter, as well as an 18ft installation on the exterior of the church depicting the mother Mary and the Christ child.

Helen is presently focused on incorporating her designs on painted furniture along with her original paintings.
