Veronique Carlos is a French Canadian painter based in Uvita, Costa Rica. Drawing inspiration from her spirited children, the untamed nature surrounding her, and the vibrant Costa Rican lifestyle, she infuses her work with energy and bold expression.
Nearly six years ago, Veronique and her family moved to Costa Rica, and that’s when everything started to come together. As a new mother in a new country, she decided to reconnect with her artistic roots. After spending time experimenting, she began sharing her creations with designers, boutique hotels, restaurants, and homeowners to help create uniquely curated spaces. Now, she embraces juggling her roles as an artist and a mother.
Working with oils, acrylics, varnish, and 14k gold leaf on locally sourced wooden canvases, Veronique aims to bring the outdoors into indoor spaces. She thrives on using handmade wooden canvases because each piece tells its own story. In her paintings, Veronique embraces feminine curves and employs an expressive color palette. Her work reflects life’s fluidity and grace, driven by her profound desire to bring warmth into your home.
