Nelson Lundberg

Since first discovering Costa Ballena in 2013, Nelson has been inspired by the region’s natural textures and how they can be thoughtfully integrated into home design. Before settling here, his career originally rooted in real estate which then evolved into a clear and focused path in interior design. As he often says, “anything with a house” is his work, and that’s exactly where his expertise thrives.
His experience spans a wide range of projects: from mountain homes in Costa Rica, to deep-water dock and low-country residences in Charleston, South Carolina; multi-use commercial and residential spaces in East Tennessee; and carefully considered transformations of beachfront rental properties along the coast. Across every setting, his focus remains the same… creating environments with intention, comfort, flow, and lasting functionality.
Nelson notes that while Costa Rica may not always offer the instant convenience of larger markets, it more than compensates with opportunities for craftsmanship, customization, and creativity. Here, design becomes less about what’s readily available on a shelf and more about imagining what can be built, tailored, or thoughtfully sourced to elevate a space.
